It is disconcerting how a large majority of modern philosophers choose to ignore or reject outright any philosophical basis to biblical teachings and, more specifically, those attributed to Jesus of Nazareth.
Yes. However, there is that faculty in all of us that seems to arise, especially when confronted with adversity and before we have given our life to Jesus, that asks 'why?' and seeks an explanation.
That faculty, confronted with persistent problems, becomes a 'need for answers'. And unless that need is catered for, given the Way, shown the examples and the Word, given the chance to receive that seed, then many will collapse, give up, or be drawn into all sorts of philosophies and strains of thought.
Good evening. Very strong and valid argument. I don't know if you have ever investigated "The Philokalia" which is a collection of writings by the ancient "Desert Fathers' of the early Church. Many of them were first trained in Greek thought before converting to Christianity. It's worth taking a look if you choose to dig.

not sure I get you. What are you referring to as 'foolish'. Please elaborate.
I guess you're saying I am foolish and what I write is also foolish in a scriptural way, right?
I'm afraid I do not understand you here. Do you mean we are not to use the faculty of reason, our intelligence, our acquired knowledge at all?
I'm talking to you and to others like you. My conversations with God are mostly private.
We need everything that God has gifted us with, including intelligence, at the very least when we speak with others.
always love the wide range of topics you cover. very interesting post
Thanks! You made my day.

Thank you for the suggestion, for subscribing, and for taking the time to read my post.
No, I did not know about The Philokalia but will definitely look for it.
As I understand it from your profile and a quick browse through your posts, you still live in Ukraine.
Can't imagine how that must be, feel...
